Answers before you book
- No. You can self-refer directly. If using private health insurance, check your policy as some require a GP letter.
- Not necessarily. Plenty of shoulder problems settle with physiotherapy, injections or other non-surgical care. The first step is getting a clear diagnosis so you can see every appropriate option, surgical or otherwise.
- Typically 30–45 minutes. Mr Baring will take a full history, examine you thoroughly, and discuss your options.
- Mr Baring is recognised by Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Cigna, Healix, Vitality, WPA, Allianz Care and others. Have your policy number and authorisation reference to hand when booking.
- Any existing X-rays or MRI scans, if you have them. You don't need to prepare anything else. Mr Baring will walk you through the rest at the appointment.
